6/1/08
The muslin was finished yesterday and the fit is great. I have decided not to turn the cuffs back to finish as 3/4 length sleeves but to leave them down for long sleeves. I really thought this pattern with all the shirring at the waist would emphasize my hips but it doesn't all. The fabric was cut yesterday and I started on the construction. I'm finishing the seams with a Hong Kong finish and I should have practiced before I started on the actual garment. I found the best instructions by Nancy here. After a morning walk I will get started on it.
I will start introducing you to some of our family members. Sadie is on the left and Duffy is on the right. They are both registered labs and will be 10 this summer. The pictures are several years old - they both have grey chins now. Sadie is the boss and she makes sure everyone knows it. Duffy is a lover and a leaner - he sits really close and leans against whoever is willing to pet the longest. They are our babies along with 3 rescue cats that I will introduce to you tomorrow.
