Kwik Sew 3108 - made of a cotton that looks hand dyed with eyelet at the bottom. This fabric came from Metro Textiles last year and I had a hard time deciding what to do with it. This skirt has godets and it is so cool and comfortable - just an elastic waist and it seems to fit the fabric perfectly. I didn't have enough of the border to make all of the godets so some are just plain fabric but the skirt is so full at the bottom that it isn't that noticeable.
The story behind my trip to NYC last year is really special. For Mother's Day my daughter flew me up to NY (she flew up from her home in VA) and treated me like royalty. We had an entire day at the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa - manicure, pedicure, massage, and facial. She even bought me some wonderful day and night creams for my face since she knew I wouldn't buy them for myself. We shopped several days and the shoe shopping at Macy's was wonderful. I have never in my whole life seen that many shoes in one place! Can you tell I'm a country girl?
She agreed to go to Metro Textiles with me and of course we both enjoyed Kashi and I spent way too much money. But hey, I figured that I would probably never be back there again so I needed to stockpile some of that wonderful fabric :) And yes, I'm still sewing on it.
I can't begin to tell you what a special young lady she is. The story of what she did for Jack's Father's Day is for another post. It was just as special and for a hint I will tell you he loves the Yankees.
I have a wonderful family and I am so very blessed.

What a lovely post about your daughter. It sounds like you had a wonderful time with her in NY, and I'll bet you were reminded of it when you were sewing the skirt made from the fabric you purchased together at Metro Fabrics. It is a pretty skirt. I really like the fabric.
