Just starting out - this is the gravel road behind our house which is about 1.5 miles round trip. Our house is on the right behind the hemlocks. The next picture shows a lonely gate in the middle of a pasture - I just love it.

As we go up the hill you'll see a tree on the right and there are several houses below. Last fall, I came across a black bear standing in front of that tree. He looked at me - I looked at him and we both took a very slow step back. He then turned and trotted up the hill on the left. I haven't seen him since.

As we go on out the road we come to Joe's pasture on the right. They just bailed the hay in this field and you can see the long row of giant marshmellows at the back of the field. These covers protect the hay until it is needed next winter.

Around another curve and if you turn at the barn on the left we come to Lisa's. She runs the Fern Center and loves purple as you can tell below.

If I stop at the end of the road and turn left, this is the view I see looking up the valley - more beautiful pastures.

Going back toward home and looking left, I see Jim's house and his white barn. He doesn't farm but just uses it for storage. Joe's barn is peeping through the trees in the next picture. He use to raise Belgium horses - think Budweiser Clydesdales and you get the picture. They were beautiful and we loved having them across the road from us. He and the horses have been gone for many years.
Teresa had posted a beautiful picture of the red outbuilding on her property and that made me think to take pictures of what I see on my daily walks. Thanks Teresa for reminding me to take notice of the beauty of where I live too.
